Ngoshe: Unlike The Hype On Social Media, We Have 600 Soldiers Here On Ground As We Speak – Abubakar

The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force Northeast Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, has declared that the military has successfully driven out terrorists who overran the Ngoshe community in southern Borno State, and that 600 soldiers are currently deployed on the ground to secure the area.

The attack, which occurred days ago, was carried out by militants suspected to be members of Boko Haram and ISWAP in a coordinated assault on the community.

Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, Major General Abubakar denounced the claims circulating on social media that the military had abandoned the location. “The military forces have flushed the terrorists out of the town. Unlike the claims circulating on social media that the camp has been abandoned, we have 600 soldiers here on the ground as we speak, and they have been able to bring in additional critical combat enablers. So our major focus now is to make sure that the civilians return fully to the town. There are some who have been displaced,” he said.

The Theatre Commander stated that the next phase of the operation would involve engaging with soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force on the ground to assess the situation, offer motivation, and keep the momentum going.National News…
